Summer Competition 2017
Pat Wilson won the summer competition with her short story ‘Double Take’.
The winner of the play with a local theme was Peter Kelly for “The Bunbury”, a well-researched amusing historical sketch about the origin of the Oaks and the Derby horse races.
The judge was very taken by “Love with Lisa Lovelace” by Kathleen Golding, which was placed second.
A special time and place competition
There was a £10 prize for prose, awarded to Peter Kelly, for “By the Canal”, with Bernard Jacobs as runner-up with a “Confusion of Wood and Trees”.
The £10 prize for poetry in this competition was awarded to Bernard Jacobs for his poem “Stained Glass”.
