As part of our efforts to bring members more talks about the business of writing, our Chair Bernard Jacobs has invited Sam Mills to speak with us in June.

Sam is founder and managing director of Dodo Ink, whose ethos is to focus on risk-taking, imaginative novels. We heard from one of their writers, James Miller, author of UnAmerican Activities, back in January 2019.
Sam will talk about how Dodo Ink has helped authors like us to see themselves in print.
She will then hold a set of mini-workshops, either one-to-one or in small groups, to talk individually to members and advise us on the steps we need to take to stand a chance of experiencing the great feeling of holding our own book, which we have written. If you want to be published, this is a meeting not to miss.
Your chance to get advice from a publisher
If you want to take part in the advice session, please bring with you to the meeting a synopsis of no more than 100 words, as well as your novel/poetry/play or whatever it is you would like to see in print. We’ll discuss the format for the sessions at the beginning of the meeting.
Make sure you RSVP for the session via Meetup; do that here.
Please note there is no guarantee your work will be discussed on the night, nor that it will be taken on by Dodo Ink or any of their associates. Sam has kindly volunteered her time to give our writers a steer as someone working in the book industry, and we’ve gratefully taken up her offer.
