Sutton Writers takes a brief sabbatical during August, but this allows plenty of time to meet and catch up with friends old and new.
Thursday 6th August saw members share drinks and stories in the Shinner and Sudtone, Sutton High Street. What a great evening to get to know each other better and reconnect with a few members we have not seen for a while. Thanks for coming Manny, Emily, Christoph, Caroline, Claudia, Tony, Gaie, Jackie, Sue, Nicky, Catherine, Christine and Barbara – it was great to see you all.
Saturday 15th August saw Peter host a garden party for both Croydon Writers – who have been established since 1945 ! – and Sutton Writers. A great occasion to network and meet new friends. And eat and drink some fabulous food, wine and Pimms. Thank you for the invite, Peter ! We hope this will be the start of a new cooperation between our two groups, a sharing of ideas and skills to boost our profile across South London. Come on, guys, let’s go for it !

Going forward, let us not forget the 31st August Bank Holiday Monday is the date for Carshalton Eco Fair. This year Sutton Writers will be manning the stall for Sutton Arts Network as well as having members feature on the Performing Arts Stage, reading poetry and joining in the entertainment. The fair is open form 10.30am in Carshalton Park and is a great day out for family and friends. Come along and support us and the local community.
